Luca Maffei's journey into the world of perfumery is deeply rooted in his familial ties and Italian heritage. Born into a family immersed in the fragrance industry, with his father Marco Maffei working for renowned companies like Symrise and IFF, Luca was exposed to the art of scent creation from an early age. This early exposure ignited a passion that led him to pursue formal training in Grasse under the mentorship of Françoise Marin, former director of the Roure perfumery school.

In 2011, Luca co-founded Atelier Fragranze Milano with his father, establishing a platform to express his creative vision. His approach to perfumery is characterized by a harmonious balance between emotion and rationality, often drawing inspiration from personal memories, nature, and the rich tapestry of Italian culture.

Among his notable creations is "Rose de Taif" for Perris Monte Carlo, a fragrance that brought him significant recognition. Another acclaimed work is "Black Pepper & Sandalwood" for Acca Kappa, which earned him the prestigious Art and Olfaction Award in 2015.

Luca's portfolio is diverse, encompassing a wide range of olfactory families. He has collaborated with numerous niche and mainstream brands, including Masque Milano, Histoires de Parfums, and Jul et Mad. His creations often reflect a deep understanding of raw materials, blending natural and synthetic ingredients to craft complex and evocative scents.
