When developing Kama, Pernoire drew inspiration from the Sanskrit concept of desire itself. Named after the Hindu deity of love and the Sanskrit word meaning “desire,” the fragrance is conceived as an olfactory tribute to passion, attraction, and the pursuit of pleasure. The brand presents Kama as an invitation to reconnect with instinctive emotions, celebrate sensuality, and embrace life's pleasures with all senses engaged. Rather than portraying desire as fleeting temptation, Kama explores its deeper, enduring nature—where tenderness, longing, and attraction coexist in perfect balance.

 

Olfactory Notes

The fragrance opens with a surprisingly textured combination of juicy Blackberry, powdery Orris, smoky Birch Tar, and delicate Violet. The contrast between fruity sweetness and dark smoky nuances immediately creates a seductive tension that feels both playful and mysterious.

As the composition develops, a distinctive heart emerges. Soft Cotton Candy adds an airy sweetness that intertwines with sensual Leather, earthy Cypriol, and warm Light Amber. The gourmand facets never overwhelm; instead, they soften the leather accord and lend the fragrance an addictive, skin-like warmth.

In the drydown, Kama becomes deeper and more intimate. Wool, Cashmeran, Musk, and Moss create a velvety, tactile foundation that feels comforting yet undeniably seductive. The result is a lingering aura that balances softness, warmth, and animalic sensuality.
