Oud Paradisio BDK Parfums: dark, opulent oud illuminated

When developing Oud Paradisio, BDK Parfums drew inspiration from Paradisio, a precious leather embroidered with violet stones. Perfumer Jordi Fernández translated this couture material into a study of contrasts, balancing light with darkness, softness with power, and creamy fruit with the deeper character of oud. The pineapple ice cream accord gives the composition an unexpected, colourful brightness, while rose connects its sensual floral heart to the darker warmth of cocoa and Thai oud. The result is an assertive nocturnal fragrance that feels rich and mysterious without losing its luminous side.

Olfactory Notes

Upon the first spray, green Italian bergamot introduces a crisp citrus sparkle, quickly joined by the juicy, creamy sweetness of pineapple ice cream. Somali incense essence and saffron move through the opening with smoky and warmly spiced accents, preventing the tropical fruit from becoming overly playful. As the fragrance develops, a trio of roses emerges, combining Turkish and Bulgarian rose essences with Turkish rose absolute. Together, they create a floral heart with round, honeyed, slightly metallic nuances. Finally, cocoa absolute brings velvety bitterness and powdered chocolate warmth, while Thai oud essence adds earthy, resinous, smoky, and subtly animalic depth.
