In 2012, Karine Vinchon Spehner, a perfumer, created this floral chypre fragrance under the guidance of Amouage's Creative Director Christopher Chong. On my skin, the top notes—zesty bergamot, grapefruit, ginger, and marigold—burst forth, evoking a vibrant, chaotic dawn, full of energy and tension. As it settles, the heart reveals a rich tapestry of incense, walnut, immortelle, and kiwi, with floral whispers of rose and jasmine, conjuring a smoky, introspective pause, like finding calm in turmoil. Finally, the base notes of leather, oud, amber, and vanilla emerge, grounding the scent in warm, sensual depth, reminiscent of a peaceful, reflective twilight.
