Ambergris is this really rare and valuable stuff that comes from the digestive system of sperm whales. It ages and hardens over time, floating on the surface of the ocean, and develops a unique smell. For years, perfumers have used it because it enhances and fixes fragrances, giving them more depth and lasting power. But because it's so rare and expensive, most perfumes today use synthetic substitutes. With Ambre Suprême, the Les Indémodables wanted to show off the real essence of ambergris. So they used 10% of it in the perfume, extracting it using their own special ultrasound technology. That way, all the different aspects of ambergris are there - warm and animalistic, mineral and a little salty.
Olfactory Notes
Initially, the fragrance presents a fresh and spicy character. Aldehydes introduce a crisp brightness, while clary sage adds an herbal touch. Pink pepper and cardamom contribute subtle spiciness, creating an invigorating opening. As the scent develops, floral elements emerge. Neroli and Moroccan jasmine provide a delicate sweetness, complemented by patchouli's earthy depth. This combination evokes a sense of refined elegance. In the final stage, the prominent ambergris note imparts a warm, slightly salty, and marine-like quality. Immortelle adds a hint of sweetness, resulting in a lasting, sensual finish that lingers on the skin.
